Clair Maltby Secondary Plan
Natural Heritage Assessment, Monitoring and Management Strategy
Beacon was retained as the lead natural heritage firm as part of large multi-disciplinary team to help complete a Secondary Plan and Master Environmental Servicing Plan for the Clair Maltby Secondary Plan Area for the City of Guelph.
For this project Beacon has undertaken natural heritage assessments (including amphibian and reptile surveys, breeding bird surveys, wetland assessments, ecological land classification, headwater drainage feature assessments, species at risk screening and significant wildlife habitat screening) to refine the natural heritage system and inform the planning process. Engagement work has included liaison with local agencies, consultation with local landowners, workshops with technical advisory groups, presentations to Council and meetings with various stakeholders and the public.
This project started in 2016 and is expected to be completed in 2020.
