Municipal Class B Environmental Assessment and Hydrogeological Assessment

Beacon was retained as part of a multi-disciplinary team by the City of Mississauga to lead a municipal class environmental assessment for the design and development of 5 hectares of undeveloped municipal lands adjacent to Cooksville Creek near Eglinton Avenue West and Hurontario Street as an all-season community park.

Beacon led the environmental assessment process and documentation, undertook the natural heritage studies, completed the site-specific hydrogeological work, and provided arboricultural services. Beacon developed and helped implement the engagement plan for the project including: outreach to Indigenous communities, consultation with local agencies, engagement with local residents and schools, and working in the field with Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

The environmental assessment process will be completed in 2020 and will be followed by approval of the detailed designs for the park and construction.
