Don has worked in the environmental consulting field since 1984 and has developed a strong reputation with both the private and public sectors as a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Ecologist. He takes a very hands-on and practical problem-solving approach to his consulting, which is almost equally divided between seeking approvals for land development projects and developing natural heritage strategies and associated policies for municipalities and conservation authorities. Don is very familiar with the natural heritage policies of most southern Ontario municipalities, as well as the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan, the Greenbelt Plan, the Lake Simcoe Protection Plan and the Greater Golden Horseshoe Growth Plan. He has provided strategic and technical advice regarding landscape ecology and natural heritage planning issues to a variety of organizations, including the Urban Development Institute, the Neptis Foundation and the Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal.
